Hydrogen peroxide gas plasma

Sterile processing definition

Hydrogen peroxide gas plasma is a low-temperature sterilization method for heat- and moisture-sensitive devices. It vaporizes hydrogen peroxide in a chamber under vacuum and uses plasma to break down residues. It is not compatible with cellulose materials such as paper, linen or cotton, so items are packaged in polypropylene wraps or Tyvek pouches validated for the method.

On the CRCST exam
